Privacy & research
Last updated 30 October 2026
What we ask
- You don't need to give your name or email to take the survey or see your report.
- The optional “About you” questions (age group, gender, role, time in role, country) can be skipped.
- We only ask for an email if you choose to save your results to an account, pay for the full report, set up a team, or ask for help.
Who can see your answers
- Your report is reached by a private link. Anyone who has the link can open it, so keep it to yourself.
- Nobody at Mastering Wellbeing browses individual answers on the site. Michael sees an individual report only if you choose to share it with him.
- Team leaders see only combined results once five or more people have responded; smaller groups are combined or withheld. They see an individual report only if that person chooses to share it.
- If you joined using a private access code, Michael sees only how many people used the code and when – not who you are or your answers, unless you choose to share your report.
- Mastering Wellbeing's technical administrator can access the database; we don't look at individual answers.
Sharing your report
- From the “Privacy & delete options” link on your results page you can share your report with Mastering Wellbeing, and with your team leader if you joined through a team invite.
- You can stop sharing at any time; the shared link then stops working.
Research and norms
- Unless you opt out, your answers and optional details are used without your name or email to keep the Flourish Survey accurate (for example, comparison norms and reliability checks).
- Research files never include names, emails, report links or team names. Teams appear only as a code and dates only as month and year. Combined tables never show groups of fewer than five people.
- You can opt out when you start, or later from your results page.
How long we keep it
- Answers are deleted automatically after 3 years, including their research rows. If you save your results to an account, the period you choose in your account applies instead.
- Combined norm figures (averages and similar) calculated before then may be kept; they never identify anyone.
Deleting your data
- You can delete your answers at any time from the “Privacy & delete options” link on your results page. Account holders can delete everything from My results.
- Deleted answers may remain in encrypted database backups for up to 7 days before they are overwritten.
- A record of any payment (product, amount and date) is kept for tax purposes, without your answers.
Payments
- Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe asks for your email and card details and sends your receipt; we never see your card number.
Asking for help and feedback
- If you request expert help, the contact details you give are stored with that request and read by Michael. Your survey answers are linked only if you tick “share”.
- Feedback is stored so Michael can read it; it isn't linked to your survey answers.
Cookies and logs
- We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your last few report links on this device. If you use a shared computer, close the browser when you finish.
- Server logs record visits (including IP address) for security, with report links hidden, and are deleted within 30 days.
Where your data is stored
- On Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sydney, Australia.
